ACC Meeting of the Minds

At the ACC Meeting of the Minds in the spring of 2026, Anya presented her research through a poster exhibition at Florida State University, highlighting her fiber-to-garment process and commitment to domestic sourcing. The work featured a detailed timeline of constructing a garment by hand, alongside a comparative analysis of geographic material origins between her design and a mass-produced piece by Zara. Incorporating natural dye techniques, the project further emphasized low-impact processes and a deeper connection to material origins. Together, the presentation explored transparency in production and how localized making can stand in contrast to globalized fashion systems.

Michigan Fashion Media Summit

As a finalist at the Michigan Fashion Media Summit in the spring of 2026, Anya was selected to showcase her research and present her work in a highly competitive setting. She brought her full process to life by displaying finished garments alongside hand-spun yarns, natural dyes, and even her spinning wheel, offering a tangible look into her fiber-to-garment approach. In addition to presenting, she attended panel discussions featuring industry professionals, gaining valuable insight into the current landscape of fashion. While not taking the top award, the experience provided meaningful networking opportunities and helped shape the future direction of her collection.
